Trailers, including caravans, can start to swerve uncontrollably even at low speeds and without any warning. Situations like that can become critical very quickly and usually have dramatic consequences. They can be caused by overtaking vehicles, ruts, crosswinds or sudden evasive manoeuvres.
The LEAS Universal is the world's first road legal ESP (electronic stabilisation programme) for braked trailers. It was designed for retrofitting to trailers of any make or design, including all caravans. An optimal safety system for the user and a major contribution to road safety.
With the LEAS Universal max System, you get monitoring electronics on board, connected to a computer-controlled spring, which, by means of a set force, automatically builds up an optimum braking force and activates the caravan's brake until the electronics no longer receive any impulses. And it just takes 0.06 seconds. The car/trailer combination stretches and returns to a stable position. LEAS Universal is a robust and reliable system.
This spring technology always guarantees a constant braking force of approx. 15 % and is independent of voltage fluctuations in the general electric circuit of the car/trailer combination.
Every operation (braking), including the detection run during commissioning, is acoustically signalled to the driver via radio so that they do not have to turn their gaze away from the road to receive the information.
